As soon as you step in the door, you are totally immersed in an unusual universe of black and white: welcome to 2D atelier! Installed just a step from République, you have the choice between bubble tea or fresh fruit drinks, hot drinks in winter and especially, wheel cake for a snack or a greedy snack.
You can choose between Ferrero rocher, cheesecake, peanut butter, Oreo... Or more traditional variations, with red bean paste or matcha. This little cake has a dough base, a bit like the one used for pancakes, which is then filled with the filling of your choice. There are even savory versions, with taro and dried pork, tuna, egg, and even raclette!
The wheel cakes are prepared before your eyes and stamped with the adorable drawing of Dindin, the guinea pig of one of the managers of the place, real mascot of the 2D workshop. In fact, he is everywhere: on the wheel cakes, on the water bottles in which the drinks are served and on a whole bunch of reusable objects to buy on the spot!
The house specialties include the taro fresh milk boba with cream cheese and big purple tapioca balls, or the exotic fruit smoothies with cream cheese whipped cream like the strawberry-green tea or the avocado-mango smoothie.
It's been a little over a year since the café opened, with the firm intention of offering a traditional menu ofspecialties from Asia, to be consumed in an atypical place. One comes for the experience and the place as much as for the melting wheel cakes or the gigantic drinks (700 ml). Count between 3.90 € and 4.60 € for a salted or sweet wheel cake, and for the traditional drinks, the prices start at 5.80 €, they can go up to 8.50 € for the most sophisticated ones in big size.
