More than a tea time, Léandre Vivier 's Burgundy Paris offers us a dream snack. Just a stone's throw from the Jardin des Tuileries and Place Vendôme, the Burgundy Paris tea room offers a luminous setting under its glass roof, from 3pm to 6pm Thursday to Sunday, for a tea-time experience well worth the detour.
Léandre Vivier, a talented young chef straight from the George V, winner of the title of Best Apprentice of France in 2013 and winner of the TV show " Qui sera le prochain grand pâtissier ", already has a strong background, so it was with great enthusiasm that we set off to discover his personal menu.
For his tea time, he imagined a lovely marriage between his passion for travel and his love of pastry-making. His sojourns in India, Japan, Mexico, Indonesia and Reunion Island, among other places, have enabled him to discover unique ingredients that he has skilfully incorporated into his creations. This tasting is an opportunity for us to discover a symphony of flavors from the four corners of the globe, combining the finesse of French patisserie with the richness of quality international ingredients.
For this afternoon tea at the Burgundy, Léandre Vivier invites us to discover these creations:
The menu offers two options:
We can't recommend this exquisite experience enough, transporting the senses to far-flung destinations. The complex, bold flavors of each pastry tell a story, the story of Léandre Vivier's travels and discoveries. Each bite is a celebration of cultural and gustatory diversity.
We love the refined, delicately poached Citron Shiso tartlet. Not very sweet despite the meringue, we love its strength and the acidity of the lemon caviar that crunches under the tooth. The strawberry Tagetes sorbet with its confit is a refreshing delight. The mellow Calisson with its hint of bitterness is a perfect match for orange blossom.
A favorite is the brioche roulée with its divine blue vanilla cream. With its vanilla milk jam, it's a real treat. And if you're a fan of cinnamon, the raspberry sablé will take you straight to the Seychelles.
And don't forget to check out our other seasonal pastries at the pastry counter. There's plenty more to discover if you're looking for a pastry and a drink for a sweet break.
So, why not treat yourself to a culinary escapade at Burgundy Paris. The talent of Léandre Vivier promises a taste buds' journey you're sure to remember.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
