A relaxing mountain getaway at the gates of Paris with SPA and Savoyard dishes

A holiday not too far from Paris, in the Yvelines, with a mountain feel? That's what the Domaine de la Corniche is offering until the end of February 2023. We're off to recharge our batteries on the banks of the Seine in a natural setting, enjoying a charming bistro, a session in the SPA and a lunch that smells of mountain cheese in ski cabins, all at a charming price - we love it.

All the benefits of the mountains - mulled wine, raclette, fondue, sauna and hammam - without being too far from Paris and without too much effort - that's what makes you want to do it! For an enchanted interlude, we're off to Rolleboise, the stronghold of the 78, 15 minutes from Giverny, for a weekend of relaxation and indulgence.

• 3-course dinner at the "20 du Domaine" bistronomic restaurant
• 1 hour relaxation at Spaquana
• Lunch in the mountains at "La Base Vernon 148" the following day.
  

On arrival, you discover not just a hotel, but an entire estate made up of several homes and buildings. The central building, where the outdoor swimming pool is located, houses the Michelin-starred restaurant "Le Panoramique", the billiard room, the cinema and the bar. It's the ideal place to come for an after-dinner drink, an evening movie or a fun game of billiards.

After collecting our keys (or rather, our magnetic card), we head off down the side-alley to discover our home for the evening. In a beautiful stone house, overlooking the Seine and set in lush surroundings, we discover a room full of charm. Just the thing for lovers. The mini-bar is included in the package, so we can enjoy a drink while we put our things down.

Once it's time for dinner, we're off to another house to discover 20 du Domaine, a bistro which, as its name suggests, is all about fine bottles. A word of advice: let the host guide you through the menu and concoct a fine wine and food pairing to accompany your choice.

In the restaurant, Gravelax salmon rubs shoulders with lamb-stuffed cabbage with root vegetables. This is cuisine that smells of the terroir, and preferably local produce.

We finish with a lovely homemade dessert, or one from the Boulangerie du Domaine, and we're off. Then it's off to the cinema, the spa or a game of chess in the lounge-bar.

After a rejuvenating night's sleep, it's time for breakfast at Le Panoramique. You can also opt for breakfast served in your room. As for us, we can't miss the lovely view over the Seine. Viennoiseries de la Ruche, charcuterie, eggs on demand, hot drinks and hot chocolate, it's all there.

The offer includes one hour's access to the Spaquina on reservation, giving access to the heated indoor pool, steam room, outdoor Jacuzzi and sauna. A great way to relax and unwind with your partner.

After this well-deserved break, we head off to La Base Vernon 148, the restaurant transformed into a ski resort. Located in Vernon, 20 minutes from the resort, this unusual spot overlooks the Seine, opposite the Vieux Moulin still standing on the medieval bridge.

You'll be able to enjoy a range of mountain dishes including fondue, tartiflette, raclette and more, all accompanied by mulled wine of course.

Cosy and warm, with heating and a blanket, you can enjoy the view over the Seine.

And that's it, our enchanted interlude comes to an end, we can then take the opportunity to visit Giverny or La Roche Guyon to discover one of France's most beautiful villages.
