Paris is your home and you want to show off your talent? The Grand Prix de la Pâtisserie de Paris is back for its 4th edition. Initiated by the City of Paris in collaboration with the famous pastry chef Pierre Hermé, this prestigious competition is an opportunity for pastry chefs, bakers and head pastry chefs from Parisian hotels and restaurants to showcase their skills. And why not follow in the footsteps of Raamin Samiyi, Jordan Talbot or Quentin Lechat, some of today's leading names in the field?
Where once the winner of the Grand Prix de la Baguette was awaited, today it's the creativity of artisan patissiers that Paris also celebrates. The botanical wealth of Paris is in the spotlight for this new edition of the Grand Prix de la Pâtisserie, a competition born in 2019 to showcase the expertise of the capital's artisan pastry chefs.
"The theme chosen this year, centered on the aromatic herbs of Paris, reveals the extent of the hidden treasures and unsuspected riches of the City of Light, and contributes to pushing back the frontiers of our profession", emphasizes Pierre Hermé, pastry chef-chocolatier, partner of the City of Paris since the launch of the event.
On the program:
A captivating theme: The aromatic herbs of Paris. Candidates must incorporate aromatic plants and herbs growing in the capital's woods.
A local touch: Each creation must incorporate at least one Parisian ingredient. You can work with the network of Parisculteurs or "Fabriqué à Paris" label holders to find this unique ingredient.
If you feel up to the challenge, don't hesitate to submit your application. You have until October 21 at 2pm to join the adventure.
The selection process takes place in two stages:
Technical pre-selection: by October 21, entries will be assessed for compliance with the theme and use of a Parisian ingredient.
Jury selection: Successful candidates will present six copies of their pastry. The jury, co-chaired by Olivia Polski and Pierre Hermé, will judge on criteria such as taste, technique, creativity and aesthetics.
To enable as many participants as possible to take part, the organization has set the cost of making each pastry at less than 3 euros. The rewards? In addition to recognition, the professional winner will receive 4,000 euros donated by the City, while the student winner will be offered a one-week internship at Pierre Hermé. A ceremony at the Hôtel de Ville will pay tribute to these talents.
If you have a sweet tooth, like to share your opinion and are available on November 15, you may have the opportunity to join Pierre Hermé as a juror for the Grand Prix de la Pâtisserie 2025. Check your availability in the afternoon between 2pm and 7pm and apply.
