It's almost becoming a habit. Pizza chef Peppe Cutraro, accustomed to awards and honors of all kinds, has just been crowned once again, on November 14, by the Naples-basedNational Italian Pizza Academy. This time, the chef won the title of European Champion 2024 at the 10th edition of this 30-country world championship.
For the competition, Peppe Cutraro presented a pizza recipe in homage to the South ("omagio al sud"), featuring San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, Calabrian spianata, Bufflone ricotta, sun-dried sweet 'crusco' bell pepper, candied onions, basil shoots and extra-virgin olive oil.
But that's not all: in addition to the title of Europe's Best Pizza Maker 2024, Peppe Cutraro 's restaurant group Gruppo Peppe, with 6 locations in Paris (including La Casa di Peppe), was awarded the title of World's Best Pizzeria Chain 2024.
Peppe Cutraro 's restaurants together sold over 800,000 pizzas in 2024, and two new restaurant openings are already planned for next year.
