Château Rosa Bonheur, located in Thomery in the Seine-et-Marne region (77), is hosting four original gastronomic dinners every Friday in December 2024 in the enchanting setting of the Orangerie. An intimate, refined experience that blends historic heritage with exceptional cuisine.

We've already told you about it, the Château de Rosa Bonheur in Thomery, near the Fontainebleau forest in the Seine-et-Marne region, is an emblematic site steeped in history. It was the residence and studio of Rosa Bonheur, the famous 19th-century animal painter, internationally renowned for her exceptional talent. From December 6, 2024, to December 27, this charming historic site will be offering a series of gourmet dinners by candlelight for the first time.

Every Friday evening, some twenty guests will have the opportunity to sample a seven-course menu, devised by chef Jeffrey and pastry chef Zélie, in the majestic setting of the château's Orangerie. This unique project, initiated by owner Katherine Brault, precedes the opening of a gourmet restaurant scheduled for summer 2025.

The meticulously crafted menu celebrates the alliance between noble products and inspirations from elsewhere:

  • Amuse-bouche: Land and sea
  • Tropique: Smoked scallops, sturgeon caviar, mango passion fruit
  • La Chasse Végétale: Japanese crosnes in salmi, wild salad burnet
  • Voyage: Smoked duck breast, tamarind, hoisin
  • Cheese: Harmony of honeys and cheeses
  • Pre-dessert: Genmaicha, grapefruit
  • Dessert: Muscovado from Mauritius and clove

In an intimate setting, lit by the soft glow of candelabras, this dinner offers a veritable voyage of the senses. Chef Jeffrey, a graduate of the Ferrandi school and former chef at George's on the Île de Ré, sublimates exceptional products with exotic touches inspired by his many travels. Pastry chef Zélie, daughter of Katherine Brault, completes the experience with elegant and surprising (slightly) sweet creations.

For Katherine Brault, these dinners represent a first step towards the launch of the château's future gourmet restaurant : " We want to offer a unique culinary experience while highlighting the history and beauty of this exceptional place, " she tells actu.fr.

The former home of the famous animal painter Rosa Bonheur, this château, acquired and restored by Katherine Brault, is a treasure trove. Original rooms, a huge garden, an untouched workshop and a highly recommended brunch are just some of the discoveries to be made. With its meticulous decor, exceptional cuisine and historic setting, this gastronomic rendezvous promises a unique getaway from the beaten track. For this experience, expect to pay €90 for a 7-course menu ( reservation required).
