On the banks of the Seine in Samoreau, the town's campsite welcomes you to one of its pitches in fine weather from May to September. Opened several decades ago, the campsite has lost none of its original spirit: to enable all campers to come and spend a night or more on the Samoreau side of the Seine, in a family-run campsite and, above all, at a very reasonable price.
This includes cyclists who have set out on the Seine à Vélo cycle route, some hikers and those who camp in a camper van, caravan or roof tent... In short, with a motorized vehicle. Located just a few minutes' walk from all amenities - bakery, tobacconist, village center and Parc Saint-Aubin - the campsite has the immense advantage of being set on the banks of the Seine, offering a bucolic setting in which to sleep the night away.
Opposite the campsite, there's a kayak base where you can hire a kayak for a sporty trip on the Seine, while the campsite is not far from the forest of Fontainebleau, famous for its hiking trails, the town's imperial château or the beautiful château of Vaux-le-Vicomte, with its immense French gardens. For a few minutes' walk, you can also fish in the Parc Saint-Aubin pond, provided you observe a few rules (available on site).
Although the campsite doesn't have its own restaurant, there's a snack bar adjoining the campsite, open in summer, offering hot and cold drinks and snacks. The campsite is accessible by public transport: just take the Transilien R from Gare de Lyon (direction Montereau), then get off at Vulaines-sur-Seine-Samoreau.
Rates are €4.55 per camper (€2.55 under 10), €5.10 per tent, €11.50 per caravan or camper van and €3.35 per car per day spent at the campsite (i.e. from €15 for a night for two people)!
