Many people are familiar with Zebra Square, nestled in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Since spring, this Parisian institution has given way to Zebra: a new, resolutely more modern brasserie with a chic decor imagined by Olivier Delannoy and Francesca Errico. We appreciate the high ceilings, the mix of materials (copper, polished wood, marble...), the furniture chosen with its beautiful and comfortable banquettes or the impressive and very beautiful bar, not forgetting the very pleasant shaded terrace.
Behind this new address is the duo ofAlexandre Giesbert and Julien Ross, already behind Daroco, the upscale trattoria opened in June 2016 on Rue Vivienne.
Alongside their friend and new partner, Romain Glize, the duo has become a trio, offering a young, modern and trendy place that still displays the codes of the luxury brasserie.
The plus? Customers can push open Zebra 's doors all week and at different times of the day, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
What's on the menu? Fresh, inspired cuisine that pays homage to the classics of French gastronomy.
Starters include the inevitable Œuf mimosa, as well as salmon gravlax, leeks with vinaigrette and razor clams with herb butter.
On the main course, whether you're a carnivore or a fish lover, you're sure to find what you're looking for, with an excellent, perfectly cooked rack of lamb accompanied by caponata (a clever blend of eggplants, onions, tomatoes, celery, green olives and capers) and thyme jus.

For the rest, choose from beef tartare with pommes pont neuf and green salad, hake aïoli, turbot à la grenobloise with spinach and potatoes, or zucchini stuffed with vegetables.
We also love the concept of the " Semainier du midi" (lunchtime weekly menu), which includespork loin with charcuterie sauce, mussels marinière, classic sausage purée...
We opted for the tasty and imposing skate, melting as we like it, with vitelotte potatoes and a caper sauce. A real treat for our taste buds.
Finally, for those with a sweet tooth, we strongly advise you to give in to the temptation of the desserts, in particular the incredible chocolate mousse. Powerful on the palate, this dessert really won us over with its slightly smoky taste and Papua New Guinea cocoa, making it a real favorite!
My sidekick opts for the dessert of the day: a beautiful chou with peach cream and a light, creamy verbena chantilly. Here too, the pleasure of the taste is guaranteed!

Last but not least, as well as concocting delicious homemade dishes, Zebra also offers expertly crafted beverages from its cocktail bar menu, designed by the inimitable Nico de Soto.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
