For several months now, La Gare, the 16th arrondissement restaurant in place of the former La Muette station, has been changing to make way for Andia, a terrace restaurant that takes our taste buds on a journey to the Andes Mountains.
New decor since 2019 and a fresh new menu for this giant and impressive spot, with no less than 600 m² of floor space on two levels and a seating capacity of 300; one thing's for sure, Andia isn't short of space! In addition to the central area, imagined by interior designer Laura Gonzales, which takes us into a lush, colorful tropical ambience inspired by the cross-fertilizations orchestrated in the kitchen, there's a sunny, covered terrace area and a verdant outdoor terrace.
At the helm of the kitchens, chef Vincent Cottereau regales us with South American offerings where guacamole, ceviches, grills and other sharing dishes have pride of place.
Don't miss the homemade guacamole, the gourmetavocado toast or the grilled sliced octopus with a spicy sauce. Salad lovers are in for a real treat, because they're all mouth-watering.
Let yourself be tempted by Selva 2.0, which combines arugula, lettuce hearts, manchego PDO, pears and pecans with a honey vinaigrette.
Of course, ceviches have pride of place in this spot. We love the classic version made with lean meats, sweet potatoes, chocolate corn, red onions, cacha, lime, chili and tiger leche. Truffle lovers will love the yellowfin tuna, avocado, black sesame radish, citrus ponzu sauce and black truffle aroma.
Then it's time for the main courses! The best thing about this spot is that you can have everything and share it with others. The marinated salmon, just seared, is perfect, and we highly recommend the stir-fried rice, which stays nice and warm in its own dish.
The side dishes include mashed potatoes flavored with tapioca, charcoal-grilled corn and grilled zucchini.
We end on a sweet note with the surprisingly excellent Dulce de Coco, served in a coconut shell and made with coconut ice cream, caramelized pecans and coconut chips. And let's not forget the sexy Pavlova with its melting meringue, dragon fruit, passion fruit coulis and tequila chantilly.
Otherwise, a must-try for a group: the Very Frozen, an ice cream with an assortment of toppings (brownie, fresh fruit, caramelized peanuts, cookie) and dark chocolate and Dulce de leche sauce.
Note that the place is also meant to be festive. From Thursday to Saturday, the DEEP Fish by ANDIA bar transports us into a joyous atmosphere with DJ sets that take us on a journey to the four corners of the globe. Enjoy cocktails to the rhythm of the sounds.
In short, if you're looking for a spacious, exotic spot that takes your taste buds on a journey to Latin America, this is the place.
