Beau & Fort cheesemonger x restaurant changes its name but does not go elsewhere. Now called Monbleu, the place set on rue du Faubourg Montmartre still offers – in its 300sqm business – the best of cheeses from farms, for a smart price and advice from cheesemongers on site.
You can come over and nibble on something at anytime of the day, choosing from the seasonal menu some dishes based on cheese such as pan-seared asparagus, Nordic bread, olive oil, ricotta, arugula (€8) or the roasted honey and pistachio ricotta, hazelnuts and kiwi coulis (€7).
Monbleu also provides you with rather crazy pairings; for instance, you can enjoy dry Roquefort-flavored sausage, Viala cold cuts from Aveyron, if you cannot choose between cheese and cold cuts; and you can also nibble on organic homemade Roquefort ice-cream from Terre Adélice served with a side of blueberry sorbet.
Moving on to drink, take the time to enjoy the Mondrink cocktail (€7), Savoy-style spritz based on Chambéry bitter by Dolin, sparkling wine from Savoy, Le Montagnieu from Domaine Duport, sparking water and orange.
Or you can go for some liquor or espresso coffee roasted by Lomi to sip with raw milk Fourme d’Ambert.
