Chez Vous is the feel good meeting place just a stone's throw from the rue des Martyrs: cosy sofas, shelves full of board games, books available, and posters of blockbusters on the walls, it's almost like being in a roommate!
This year, the restaurant is celebrating its tenth anniversary under the leadership of Majd Masri, a promising mixologist, who took over the reins last year and concocted a new cocktail menu based on premium spirits, syrups, shrubs and homemade bitters.
You can rediscover the great classics, or venture into more original territory, especially since the menu changes every three months. The day we came, we tried the French Conexion, made with Mzecal, Chambord, Whisky, squeezed lime and sugar, a delight, both smoky and fruity!
To accompany these creations, Chez Vous can count on its chef Benoît Gribanoff, who is inspired by seasonal products and tries to favor short circuits in a true eco-responsibleapproach.The fruits and vegetables come mostly from the Ile de France, , the meats from Burgundian butchers, and the seafood from small artisanal fishermen.
Its menu changes very regularly and is organized around a selection of 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts for lunch, always with a vegan or vegetarian option.
On our plates that day, the marrow bone bruschetta, bear garlic pesto, spinach and roasted hazelnuts delighted our palate, as did the watermelon with Limnos Island feta, Za'atar and organic olive oil.
This was followed by a grilled coalfish back, piperade and brown rice, and a large penne salad with pesto, mozza di bufala, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, toasted seeds and chopped herbs.
Finally, the best was for last, with a dark chocolate and praline mirror cake, and a melting caramelized apple on a palet breton, in which a caramel beurre salé coulis was hidden... a pure delight!
In the evening, the menu offers a multitude ofdishes to share for 5, 7 or 10 people, such as lemon tarama and homemade pita, eggplant caviar or codfish accras.
Finally, the wine selection is renewed every three months with a list of almost 100% natural and organic wines. To find your way around, you just have to rely on Jérémy, who guides the customer like no one else and proposes well-felt food and wine pairings.
The motto of Chez Vous? "Eat well, drink well"... As far as we are concerned, mission accomplished!
