The Les Maquereaux concept takes root in Paris's 9th arrondissement with the opening of Barbot! Barbot is Les Maquereaux 's third new address, following the barge moored at Quai de l'Hôtel de Ville and the guinguette in Nogent-sur-Marne, and is sure to appeal to lovers of shellfish, fish and other well-crafted gourmet offerings.
When you arrive at Barbot, you're first impressed by the imposing terrace (part of which is protected), proudly installed on avenue de Trudaine. But this local shellfish bar has a lot more to offer, including a beautiful interior with a modern yet retro decor, a piano and a smokehouse to sublimate your fish!
Like its two big brothers, Barbot focuses above all on seafood, with oysters from Plougrescant in Brittany, pink shrimps, blue-veined razor clams and whelks.
In the evenings, you'll be tempted to share tapas, with warm shrimp croquettes, whelks with mayo, the inevitable mackerel rillettes, not forgetting a duo of home-smoked fish, depending on the day's arrivals. For us, it's salmon and hake!
If you prefer local produce to seafood, don't panic, Barbot will satisfy you with its famous pizzetta, creamy Pugliese burrata or Vitello Tonnato.
And to accompany these dishes, Barbot suggests beer, cocktails and a fine selection of wines!
