Gourmet alert! In Paris, one of the capital's gastronomic temples is making a comeback. Just a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysées, Parisians of all ages are celebrating their return to the prestigious restaurants of the famous George V Palace. For this gourmet-focused back-to-school season, thelegendary address has reinvented itself to delight gourmets.
Since September 8, 2021, the three-starred restaurant Le Cinq has been making a comeback. Chef Christian Le Squer will be at the helm, offering a fabulous menu featuring seasonal produce sourced from small local producers and sustainably caught fish. A culinary encounter between the three-star chef's native Brittany and Parisian art de vivre: the ideal way to prolong the vacation spirit. Oenophiles won't be left out either, as Eric Beaumard, the restaurant's director and the world's vice-best sommelier, joins forces with Christian Le Squer for a tasting session rich in fine discoveries. And at the George restaurant, where Simone Zanoni officiates, new head sommelier Francesco Cosci will be on hand to offer you the very best in Italian wines.
One of the highlights of the new year 2021 at the George V is the revival of the Galerie concept, which pays tribute to French terroir through a new culinary offering. In the midst of historic 19th-century décor and rooms, we discover a veritable culinary museum, rediscovering the products and know-how for which France is renowned in the world of gastronomy. Chef Alan Taudon has risen to the challenge, revisiting the classics to offer us a modern, creative cuisine.
Here again, the palace confirms its commitment to local, responsible producers and market gardeners. Coquillettes à la Française, Poireau Confit d'Île-de-France, Parmentier de Boeuf or Grilled Blue Lobster, it's a culinary experience as comforting as it is moving that awaits you here. The bonus? Michael Bartoccetti, the hotel's highly talented pastry chef, has created a surprising menu that revisits classic French pastries, including the famous Mille-Feuilles and the must-try Paris-Brest.
The red thread continues through to L'Orangerie, where chef Alan Taudon unveils a new range of dishes, always with a committed, responsible approach. But here, you can expect the unexpected with a menu full of creativity and audacity. It's an address that will be contested by the avant-garde, eager to taste what will make the gastronomy of tomorrow. Culinary, technical and visual feats await gourmets, including salt-crusted langoustine and trompe-l'oeil tomato rigatoni that will leave you speechless.
Bonus? If you feel like it, you can get your hands dirty and learn alongside the talents of the George V this autumn. Two Sundays a month, masterclasses in cuisine, patisserie and oenology will be given by the palace's great names: Christian Le Squer, Alan Taudon, Michael Bartocetti, Eric Beaumard and Francesco Cosci will take turns sharing their expertise!
We love it!
