Goodbye Relais Boccador and hello Zapi, the new Italianpizzeria that awaits you at 20 rue Boccador in the 8th district of Paris, a stone's throw from the Champs-Elysées.
We open the doors of this welcoming place with Italian colors where earthenware and wood are mixed. On the program, about thirty seats for a good moment of conviviality. Tables and benches on each side, a bar in the background to prepare good homemade cocktails and enough to make a big table, we are well.
At Zapi, the speciality is the Roman pizza, in other words the "pizza romana scrocchiarella", a fine and crunchy pizza as we like it in Italy. Chef Simone Soriga, who studied under Peppe Cutraro (elected world pizza champion and best pizzeria in Europe), offers us his vision of Diavola, Norma, Puttanesca and other transalpine recipes.
At Zapi too, the product is king! Thus, all the toppings are exceptional and 100% Italian. The pizza dough is made on the spot with "Petra" flour, Franco Gulli's cold cuts are placed on a home-made "San marzano" tomato sauce, we are all good.
At our passage, we let ourselves be tempted by the excellent iced tea house shaké with love.
In between, the excellent creamy Burrata with its cherry and candied tomatoes well seasoned and the Zapi di tonno, a pizzette with red tuna, pickled red onion and ponzu sauce. Veal tartar tonnato and artichoke carpaccio are also on the menu.
On the pizza side, we let ourselves be tempted by the most classic, the Margherita. A Marzano DOP tomato sauce, flor di latte and basil leaves, nothing better to discover if the pizzas are good. No worries, we enjoy ourselves.
On the other hand, we also take theAndrea which is composed of a white base with bresaola, mushrooms and grated parmesan. Generously garnished and with a fine charcuterie, it can be swallowed.
To finish the meal in softness, we opt for the indestructible tiramisu which is light and not very sweet, we love it. My sidekick opts for the firm Panna Cotta and well spiced up by the fresh and tangy passion fruit.
In short, if you are looking for a good Italian for a Roman-style pizza on the Champs-Elysées, go to Zapi.
