Does the story of Kalios still need to be told? For over 10 years, Kalios has been a fixture in the daily lives of Greek food lovers and top chefs alike, and has become a veritable success story .
At the helm of Kalios are brothers Grégory and Pierre-Julien Chantzios, who decided in 2010 to take over thefamily olive grove that had been run for 8 generations in the Kalamata region of Greece, in order to become olive and olive oil producers themselves, as well as sourcing the best local Greek produce. 12 years later, Kalios now supplies nearly 1,000 chefs in France, including 100 Michelin-starred chefs, and 800 delicatessens in France and abroad!
Today, Kalios has reached a new milestone with the opening of its very first address in Paris: Maison Kalios. Inside this bright, beautiful address on rue des Martyrs, whose sober, contemporary decor is the work of theUchronia agency , which has created a fine tribute to Mediterranean codes, there are two distinct areas: a grocery section and a catering section.
As you enter the premises, you first discover Maison Kalios' well-stocked grocery corner. On the walls, in the alcoves, you'll find the whole Kalios range: first, second and third harvest olive oils, available in formats ranging from one-litre bottles to huge cans that last for several years; various infused oils that are frankly mouth-watering - garlic, basil, chilli - dried aromatic herbs made in Greece, Greek wines and ouzo, jams, honey, infusions...
Fridges house Maison Kalios'fresh offerings, including the unmissable halloumi, octopus in jars, and a smoked eel we were clearly eyeing. In short, enough to fill your kitchen cupboards and shelves!
Then it's on to the catering section of Maison Kalios, which is bursting with color. In the window, you'll discover the cult dishes of Greek gastronomy, to enjoy on the spot or to take away, ideal for a lunch on the go or a dinner at home without the headache!
On the menu: moussaka, hummus, tyrokafteri, tzatziki, smoked almonds, plump Kalamata olives, Greek salad for cold dishes, as well as hot dishes, including lamb confit, moussaka, stuffed peppers and stifado beef.
