Café de l' Homme boasts one of the finest views of the Eiffel Tower. The restaurant, run by Coco Coupérie-Eiffel and Christophe Bonnat since 2004, is one of the chicest brasseries in the area.
We'll take you on a tour of this mythical place and play the"Emily in Paris" game, so you can enjoy a delicious moment admiring the Iron Lady, who's also getting a makeover.
The Café de l'Homme experience is built around five key moments in the day, each offering a unique experience:
To celebrate spring, the terrace opens onto a festive atmosphere with a DJ set from Wednesday to Saturday, from 9.30pm to 2am. It's the ideal spot to enjoy the end of the day with a view of our beautiful tower.
An important part of the Café de l' Homme experience is its sound dimension. The establishment's playlists, available on the main streaming platforms, feature up to 700 titles, recreating the musical atmosphere of the place in your everyday life. Much more than a restaurant, Café de l'Homme aims to offer you a magical moment that blends gastronomy, art, music and celebration. In short, a great program for a great time.
A redesigned interior to offer a wider view, a new wine cellar, a large table d'hôte and a terrace enhanced and redesigned for greater comfort - this is what awaits connoisseurs of the place.
On the plate, the chef works with local produce to offer a generous and authentic menu, full of flavors and stories. Seasonal products, homemade sauces, French dishes that make your mouth water. The kitchen has been enlarged in the basement so we can offer a real menu prepared on site that's different from what you'll find everywhere.
We set out to discover this renewed offering. For starters, the choice was as varied as it was refined. We tasted a tasty Ceviche of royal sea bream , harmoniously accompanied by sweet potatoes, coconut milk, red onion and sweet smoked chili. Foie gras du Sud-Ouest cooked au torchon, Maison Paris, served with poached pear and homemade brioche, is a dish in itself. Gourmet and very fine, we warmly recommend it. Finally, the Octopus , gently cooked at low temperature for over an hour before being seared, is just the way we like it. With its beet, feta and zaatar hummus, it's a real treat.
For the main courses, we like to rediscover classic French dishes. The Vol-au-Vent of farmhouse poultry from the Landes region with spinach, mushrooms and truffled chicken sauce is very generous. The 7-hour Braised Beef with green olives, gherkins, tomato confit and croutons is divinely melting. Giant tiger prawns from Madagascar in coconut risotto, seasonal herbs and turmeric sauce offer an exotic interlude, while the French veal chop with ginger and lime melts in the mouth.
There's something for everyone, too: salad, homemade mashed potatoes, fresh French fries and truffle cheddar fries.
To finish on a sweet note, there are some lovely, original desserts to discover. Soufflé chaud au chocolat Ouganda 70% avec ses noisettes made us regress. The Forêt blanche with white chocolate, cherry and Ossau-Iraty titillated our taste buds. Finally, the freshness ofAloe Vera, kiwi and lime was the perfect choice to end on a light note.
In short, it's the perfect place to have a good time, and a fine wine list too. Note that Café de l' Homme is open 7 days a week, from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 19:00 to 02:00 on weekdays, and from 12:00 to 02:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Don't forget to book online, as the place is sometimes privatized. Then all you have to do is enjoy the menu and the view!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
