An eighteen-month closure. A very long time for the artists of the Moulin Rouge, who have not been able to work since March 12, 2020, because of the Covid-19 epidemic. This long period of forced unemployment is to end very soon: the famous cabaret reopens and relaunches the shows from Friday September 10, 2021.
For this new start, the Moulin Rouge prepares a revue likely to be impressive, in blue, white and red. On social networks, the famous Parisian institution does not hide their excitement about resuming after being closed to so long. On the Moulin Rouge’s twitter account, one can see pictures of the artists amid rehearsal, on the cabaret stage, in front of a room soon to be filled with the applause of the spectators.
Le 10 septembre approche ! Pour nos artistes, les répétitions s’enchaînent à un rythme soutenu et dynamique !

The Moulin Rouge also hopes to be soon able to reunite with their foreign audience as well as the French audience. The cabaret usually attracts more international tourists. Yet, the health situation is still not stable, and the tourist sector has not reunited with its pre-covid pace. In September, foreign travelers will not be as many as usual, because of the pandemic, and the travel restrictions still implemented in some countries. The Moulin Rouge then hopes the French audience will be there to fill in the room and help the cabaret resume with work.
So far, according to the FAQ on the Moulin Rouge website, it seems the health pass is not required to access the cabaret. Nonetheless, facemask-wearing is compulsory.
