Parks with water fountains and misters to cool off in Paris

Are you looking for parks and squares with water jets or misters for water games?

Parc Nelson Mandela in Châtelet-les-Halles (1st)
Since its renovation in 2018, Parc Nelson Mandela has been home to misters on the Forum des Halles side. They are activated intermittently in fine weather. Note that the park offers numerous play areas for children, as well as green spaces for picnics and sunbathing.

Place de la République (4th)
During the summer, the famous Parisian square activates its water mirror to spread freshness to tourists and Parisians alike.

L'Île aux Brumes de Paris Plages
Just past the Pont Neuf, a Jardin de Brume (Mist Garden) awaits you to cool off with "parabrumes", a kind of shower that diffuses a fine mist to be enjoyed on sunny days during Paris Plages. Of course, if that's not enough for you, you can also head over to the Villette to jump in the free swimming pools during the summer months.

Parc de Choisy (13th arrondissement)
The Parc de Choisy is equipped with misters for cooling off. There are also play areas for children and a large main pool.

Parc Andre Citroën (15e)
If you're looking for a place to get wet and sunbathe too, the Parc André Citroën is the place to be. With its 72 jets popping up randomly on a huge esplanade and 14 hectares of lawn, it's an ideal spot.

Le Trocadero (16th)
The Trocadero gardens face the Seine and our beautiful iron lady. They are criss-crossed by avenues running alongside the Warsaw Fountain, made up of several basins. The largest features water cannons that form dozens of sprays of water gushing from the surface. If you're hanging around, they act as misters. Mind you, even if people dip their feet in them, it's illegal.

Jardin d'Acclimatation (16e)
The Jardin d'Acclimatation has plenty to refresh young and old alike. Between the Jardin-plage and its many water features, the Fontaine sèche (dry fountain) on the side of the Porte Gandhi, which is riddled with water jet combinations, and the misters along the park entrance, there's plenty to make you feel good. Please note: access is subject to a charge!

This summer, the city of Paris will be increasing its range of refreshment facilities for the public with the addition of new misting fountains and shaded areas. While the city already boasts 1,200 traditional fountains, 73 additional misting fountains will be installed in the streets, bringing the total to 40 more than the previous summer. Dan Lert, Head of Ecological Transition at City Hall, assures us that these fountains are water-efficient, using only half a glass of water per misting cycle.

In addition, there are 60 misters in the city's parks, operational from June to September. Another means of cooling down is offered by shaded areas, which, according to Dan Lert, can reduce ambient temperatures by up to 10 degrees Celsius. 24 additional shaded areas will be installed this summer. What's more, Paris City Hall has signed an agreement with 800 local shopkeepers, who have undertaken to refill the water bottles of passers-by on request.

Pierre Rabadan, Deputy Minister for Sports and the Seine, will make an announcement towards the end of June concerning the opening of new bathing spots in the capital.
