In 2023, Hanukkah returns from December 7 to 15. This Jewish holiday commemorates the miracle of light, with gifts, traditional pastries and, above all, the lighting of a new candle each evening from an eight-branched candlestick, plus one, the chamach, which towers above the others.
As is the case every year, the French Loubavitch movement takes this opportunity to organize public lighting of the candlestick, the hanoukia, all over France, and Yvelines is no exception. Several towns in the 78 region will be taking part, and the Jewish community will be able to come together for a beautiful moment of communion. Of course, the event is free of charge, and will take place in the main squares of the various towns.
