In Paris, the Hôtel de Crillon unveils an unusual Easter egg created by Matthieu Carlin in collaboration with artist Éric Charles-Donatien. A poetic reinterpretation of this chocolate delicacy, this work is designed to accompany moments of conviviality with friends and family.

TheHôtel de Crillon never ceases to surprise. After an enchanting Christmas and a gourmetEpiphany, Matthieu Carlin, the pastry chef at the prestigious palace, has a new surprise in store to celebrate Easter. To the delight of chocoholics, he unveils an unusual and poetic chocolate egg in collaboration with artist Éric Charles-Donatien.

To accompany gourmands over the Easter period, the duo unveil a refined creation designed for moments of sharing. TheHôtel de Crillon's Easter Egg for 2024 proudly represents the encounter between the world of the palace and that of the artist-designer and feather-maker. First of all, we see this chocolate egg, adorned with a feather that covers it as if to protect it. And yet, if you look at it from the side, this Easter Egg is actually made up of several chocolate bars that follow the pattern imagined by Éric Charles-Donatien.

Two types of bar make up this egg, which seems determined to make everyone agree: 43% milk chocolate with a crunchy praline filling, and 66% dark chocolate with a gianduja heart. So, between dark and milk chocolate, there's no need to choose, and this is how Matthieu Carlin manages to contribute to the spirit of conviviality and sharing that marks these moments of indulgence. But there's another surprise in store for gourmands, as this work is criss-crossed by a miniature reproduction of the DS, the vintage vehicle associated with theHôtel de Crillon, offering a lasting souvenir to remember this moment of indulgence. Why leave the bean to the galette des rois?
