A big surprise for visitors this Monday, March 27, 2023, in the morning: the agents of the Louvre museum organized an unexpected demonstration, blocking the entrances of the museum, to protest against the pension reform. This social movement should last all day Monday, according to the unions behind this action.

Nearly 300 agents are taking part in this picket, according to information relayed by Libération. " We are doing this action to show that the culture is there, fully committed against the pension reform. It is also a way to send a signal to the sectors that are on strike, to tell them that they are not alone ," said Mehenna Belaïd, a security guard at the Louvre and SUD Culture representative, as reported by Libération.
" The CGT-Culture, the CGT-Spectacle, the Federal Union of State Trade Unions - CGT, the CGT-Book and the CGT Departmental Union of Paris are participating in this action with the staff of the Louvre on strike ," the demonstrators told our colleagues in Le Figaro.
Blocking the most famous museum in the capital, in front of the groups of tourists present this morning, is therefore a strong message carried by these agents. This demonstration is organized the day before the great national strike organized by the inter-union. This Tuesday, March 28, social movements are planned throughout the country. However, since this is the day the Louvre is closed, the Parisian art museum had to postpone its action to have a real visibility with the public and the public authorities.
It is not known if and when the Louvre will be accessible again this Monday, March 27. We can also expect several closures or partial openings of museums and monuments on Tuesday March 28.
