Get out your hats, scarves and gloves, because it's likely to be cold nextweek over a large part of France, including the Île-de-France region. As reported by La Chaîne Météo, the cold is back in France this weekend, and the drop in mercury will continue over the following days, with sub-zero temperatures expected for the week of January 8 to 14, 2024. " With a high-pressure system moving up from the Azores towards Ireland, the low-pressure area responsible for this week's turbulent weather will slowly shift towards central Europe. As a result, the wind will shift to the north, favoring falling temperatures ".
🌡️ After the #sweetness of the beginning of the week, linked to the circulation of oceanic air, and even #subtropical air on Tuesday, France will switch to polar air, causing temperatures to plummet. Winter will return, and so will #cold 🥶 pic.twitter.com/hkhNQ6jmL6

From Monday January 8, 2024, temperatures will drop below 0°C, particularly in Val-d'Oise and Yvelines. In these two departments, the mercury is likely to hover between -1°C and -2°C in the early morning. In the afternoon, there will be little change in temperature, with the mercury between -1°C and 1°C throughout the Île-de-France region.
OnTuesday, January 9, 2024, the cold will become even colder. For this second day of the week, Météo France is forecasting temperatures of between -4°C and -2°C in the morning, then between -2°C and 0°C in the afternoon.
The same forecast applies to Wednesday, with temperatures in the early morning between -4°C and -2°C in the Paris region, then between -1°C and 1°C in the afternoon.
On Thursday, January 11, 2024, it will still be cold in the Paris region, with sub-zero temperatures forecast for the morning. But the mercury should rise slightly in the afternoon, reaching 2°C to 4°C.
For the rest of the week, temperatures are set to rise back above the 0°C mark, with the exception of Saturday morning, when the mercury could register between -3°C and -1°C in Seine-et-Marne.
So, with temperatures like these, should we expect snow in Paris and the Île-de-France region next week? Snow lovers will have to wait and see, as the weather is expected to remain dry throughout the week. In fact, from Tuesday onwards, we're expecting sunshine across much of the Paris region.
Of course, this trend for the week ahead will have to be confirmed over the coming days.
