A new page has been turned on Paris's legendary Boulevard Montmartre. After 33 years in business, the legendary Hard Rock Cafe closed its doors for good on Monday, November 18, 2024. It was the last Hard Rock Cafe in France.

For many years, the Hard Rock Cafe Paris has been a fixture of the 9th arrondissement, closing its doors for good on Monday November 18, 2024.

Opened at No. 14 boulevard Montmartre on November 24, 1991, the Hard Rock Cafe Paris quickly became a meeting place for foreign tourists, particularly Americans, as well as lovers of rock and metal music. For, like all the other Hard Rock Cafes around the world, the one in Paris housed a collection of memorabilia, with instruments and outfits that had belonged to some of the biggest names in music, and more generally in rock.

The Hard Rock Cafe Paris also regularly hosted sporting events such as rugby and soccer, as well as the Super Bowl, concerts and press days. We remember meeting Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell from Motörhead.

And then there was the Hard Rock Cafe Paris merchandise store. An essential stop-off point for those wishing to expand their t-shirt collection, after having already purchased those from New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

The definitive closure of Hard Rock Cafe Paris marks the end of an era. Earlier this year, we learned of the closure of Hard Rock Cafe in Lyon, which had been placed in receivership.

Hard Rock Cafe Paris was the last establishment of the famous American chain in France, founded in the USA in 1971. There are no longer any Hard Rock Cafes in France. According to France Bleu, employees at Hard Rock Cafe Paris learned of the closure on September 11. Economic difficulties were cited as the reason. According to France Bleu, the company has been in deficit for three years.

The swift and definitive closure of Hard Rock Cafe Paris on November 18 came as a surprise to many. All the more so as the Parisian establishment had not communicated on the subject. For several hours now, messages on social networks have been multiplying. Many are evoking their past memories of this legendary Parisian venue, now closed after 33 years of loyal service.
