Following the introduction of the Zone à Trafic Limitée in the heart of the capital and the 50 km/h speed limit on the Paris ring road, new traffic restrictions designed to reduce pollution are now in force in the Paris region. From January 1, 2025, Crit'Air 3 vehicles will be banned in Paris and the inner suburbs. As a result, they will no longer be allowed to circulate on weekdays from 8am to 8pm (excluding weekends and public holidays) within the perimeter delimited by the A86 motorway.

This measure is part of the introduction of a Low Emission Zone (ZFE) in Greater Paris. A total of 79 communes are affected by the new traffic restrictions. As a reminder, the Crit'Air 3 sticker applies to diesel cars over 14 years old and petrol cars over 19 years old.
A 24h Pass will nevertheless be introduced to allow vehicles covered by the ban to enter the capital a few times, for a maximum of 12 days a year. It is also specified that automated controls and sanctions should not be activated until 2026.
