The Lyon International Cheese Competition has named P'tit Saint-Faron the best cheese in the world: made in Meaux, in the Seine-et-Marne département, it's a fine tribute to the culinary heritage of the Ile-de-France region.

Meaux is famous for its cathedral, the Bossuet garden and Meaux Plage , with its summer activities for families. As for the town's gastronomy, it's impossible to miss its Brie (from Meaux, obviously) or its P'tit Saint-Faron, crowned best cheese in the world at the Lyon International Cheese Competition, according to La Marne.

Named after the cheese dairy that makes it, P'tit Saint-Faron was awarded in the "Other soft cow's milk cheese with bloomy rind" category with the highest score of all, 98/100. Described as melting, creamy and mild, the cheese is a buttery cream tripe with 75% fat... A fine delicacy, to be enjoyed in small or large sizes, and to be found at Fromagerie de Meaux Saint Faron.

Produced since 1998, the milk used is the same as that used to make Brie de Meaux, which you can also find on the shelves of the Fromagerie. So, if you're in Meaux for the weekend or just passing through, you know which culinary specialities to discover!
