From December 6 to 15, 2024, the Salon des Santonniers de Provence returns to Meaux (77): right on time for the Christmas and New Year vacations, this is your chance to immerse yourself in the heart of this emblematic French craft.
In France, santons are an emblematic part of the end-of-year festivities: indeed, these little characters are found at the heart of miniature life scenes, most often within Christmas cribs. Originating in Provence, this tradition is very much alive in this region, but also in many other parts of the country during the run-up to the festive season.
At this year's show, organized by the Rotary Club of Meaux, you'll be able to meet a number of santon-makers who have come especially to sell their creations, as well as take part in molding workshops! This year, a new range of Provençal scénettes will also be on offer, as well as new traditional santons: an opportunity for santon enthusiasts to expand their Christmas cribs!
So, for this new edition of the show, head to the Salle Bossuet : admission is free and open to all, from December 6 to 15, 2024, Fridays from 2pm to 7pm, Mondays to Thursdays (2pm to 6pm) and weekends from 10am to 7pm (except Sunday, December 15, when the show closes at 6pm). An event not to be missed in the run-up to the festive season!
