Every year, on June 21, music resounds throughout France. It's already 42 years since the Fête de la Musique was launched across the country to give all musicians the chance to play and make a name for themselves during a festive evening.
Since then, every year on the same date, budding musicians take to the streets to celebrate music in all its forms. On this day, all types of music are given pride of place. From rock to rap, electro, RnB, French variety, funk, metal, zouk, reggae, salsa, classical, pop, blues and jazz... The Fête de la musique is a chance to feast your eyes and ears, whatever your favorite musical style!

During the Fête de la musique, there are of course amateur musicians playing in large numbers, but there are also well-known artists who don't hesitate to give free concerts to the delight of their fans. In recent years, Jenifer, Youssoupha, Yuri Buenaventura, Jeanne Added, Catherine Ringer, Superbus, Fatoumata Diawara, Julien Clerc, Bénabar, La Compagnie Créole and Cali have all given free shows on June 21 in the Paris region.
While the street is the place to be for musicians, the Fête de la Musique takes place in many other places, including cafés, bars and restaurants, churches and museums, not to mention squares, parks and gardens.
So, if you're looking for a good musical plan in a green space in Paris and the Ile-de-France region, then check out the list of concerts scheduled for Friday June 21, 2024 to mark the new Fête de la musique.
