If subway traffic looks set to be complex during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Parisians and tourists alike can fall back on bicycles, the use of which will be facilitated by the installation of giant parking lots near Olympic venues and 3,000 new Vélib'.

To avoid chaos on public transport or on the roads, have you decided to take to the bike during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games? With the appearance of numerous cycle paths in recent years, the use of this mobility has exploded, and it should be the preferred means of travel during the competition this summer, which must be 100% accessible by bike. To make life easier for cyclists, giant bike parks are being set up all over the city, especially near the Olympic venues.

According to the Autolib' Vélib' métropole union, nearly 3,000 Velib' have been ordered for 2022, i.e. 20% more bikes, to be deployed in the Paris region to coincide with the Paris Olympic Games. These giant ephemeral parking lots will accommodate bicycles belonging to Parisians or rented by tourists, as well as Vélib', thanks to the installation of 200-space temporary stations.

For their part, the Olympians are expected to link up a 60-kilometre network of cycle paths to access all the Games' competition venues. A huge deployment, planned from July 24, the date of the first events, until the end of the Paralympic Games.
