With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games fast approaching, or rather fast approaching, the City of Light is preparing a memorable evening to celebrate the magic of the event. On July 14, the symbol of France's national holiday, theHôtel de Ville will open its doors to the public all night long, offering a unique opportunity toadmire the Olympic flame some ten days before the start of the competition.
"The Hôtel de Ville will be open all night so that Parisians and visitors alike can admire it," declared Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo at a press conference.
The flame, guardian of the Olympic spirit, will light up the building's lounges, burning uninterrupted to inspire the champions of tomorrow.
Prior to its stopover at the Hôtel de Ville, the Olympic flame will have circulated through the streets of Paris during the day, crossing the capital's central arrondissements. Then, on July 15, it will make its way through the outer arrondissements, before setting fire to the famous Olympic cauldron, majestically enthroned in the Jardin des Tuileries, for the duration of the Games.
In addition, the passage of the flame will not cancel the traditional fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower on July 14, which should be adorned with the five Olympic rings on its north side.
