To mark the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Paris Musées is launching a most unusual tour of the capital: the Cultural and Sports Walks. This summer, from June 29 to August 25, 2024, sports and culture enthusiasts will be able to explore the city's museums through routes combining physical activity and artistic discovery.
During this summer period, two sporting and cultural itineraries are offered to participants. The Parcours Centre and Parcours Sud offer an enriching experience, combining the discovery of museum collections with physical exercise.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in muscle-strengthening, body-sculpting and cardio-training activities during cultural breaks in front of the works of art, all under the supervision of Julie Pelloile, certified sports coach. These courses are open to participants aged 14 and over, with online booking, and are designed to be inclusive and open to all.
The Parcours Centre, which takes place on June 30, July 21, August 24 and 25 at 10:30 am, begins in front of the Crypt archéologique on the Île de la Cité. Participants will then discover the Musée Carnavalet and the Musée Cognacq-Jay, before ending their walk at the Maison de Victor Hugo. Each stage of the walk is an invitation to immerse oneself in the rich and varied history of Paris, while keeping to an athletic pace.
The Parcours Sud, scheduled for June 29 and July 20 at 10:30 a.m., will start in front of the Musée de la Libération de Paris - Musée du Général Leclerc - Musée Jean Moulin. Participants will then proceed to the Catacombes, the Musée Zadkine, and end their itinerary at the Musée Bourdelle. This itinerary will take walkers through emblematic neighborhoods while enjoying moments of physical exertion and artistic contemplation.
A walk that perfectly matches the spirit of Paris 2024, combining sport, culture and conviviality, and promises to leave its mark on the summer of Parisians and visitors to the capital. It's an opportunity to experience a unique adventure, combining sport and art in one of Paris's most beautiful settings!
