It's an exceptional decision, involving all 15,000 drinking establishments in Paris.
The Paris Prefect of Police, Laurent Nuñez, nevertheless reminds us that managers"remain, even in this exceptional setting, responsible for maintaining public order within their establishments". For these four evenings are likely to be lively, to celebrate this international competition, 100 years after the last Games in the capital, in 1924. Tourists and locals alike will no doubt be taking advantage of the screens in these venues to watch the ceremonies, before continuing their festive evening.
In the same way, take-away sales of drinks and fast-food products on the public highway are also authorized on these evenings. This does not go down well with local residents' associations and residents living nearby...
