After a whirlwind Monday in which France collected 8 medals (including 2 golds, one in canoeing and one in fencing), our beloved nation continues its momentum with a new medal, this time bronze, in BMX. On Wednesday July 31, Anthony Jeanjean took third place in the freestyle event on the Place de la Concorde.
Although theFrench athlete had hoped to go one better and become the first French Olympic champion in BMX history, the 26-year-old did better than his seventh-place finish at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. A fine step forward for Anthony Jeanjean, world number 1 and already rewarded in the past with a triple European title.
Unfortunately, Anthony Jeanjean fell at the start of his performance this afternoon, and although he quickly got back on his bike, he scored 93.76 out of 100, behind Argentina's José Torres Gil (94.82/100) and Britain's Kieran Darren David Reilly (93.91/100).
