A flag adorned in blue, purple and yellow is sure to intrigue you if you take the metro over the next few days. Visible during the Paralympic Games, this symbol aims to raise awareness of the fight against meningitis!

The Paralympic Games are an opportunity not only to see great sport, but also to raise awareness of the various disabilities and illnesses in our society. To raise awareness of meningitis, the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF), the Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (CoMO), Sanofi and three para-athletes affected by the disease - Théo Curin, Davide Morana and Ellie Challis - have joined forces to create a symbol and bring it to life in the capital during the competition!

This flag, composed of a blue rectangle, a purple triangle and a yellow semicircle, represents the 3 meninges (membranes that protect the brain and spinal cord), the idea of " protect, support and overcome " and the meningitis community. This disease affects more than 2.5 million people worldwide every year, can affect anyone and can lead to death within 24 hours.

Pushed by Théo Curin, who arrived with his taxi-phryge at the opening ceremony, this unique symbol is being given pride of place in the capital, and particularly the Paris metro. FromSeptember 4 to 10, 2024, line 1 and Franklin D. Roosevelt station will be decked out in the colors of the flag to raise awareness and allow passers-by to question themselves.
