In the saddle! Zeus, the legendary metal horse from the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is making a comeback ... and this time, it's at theHôtel de Ville de Paris! From August 29 to September 8, 2024, from 10am to 7pm, you can admire this steel thoroughbred in all its glory, on display in the institution's inner courtyard, by reservation only.
At the ceremony, ZEUS galloped down the Seine, defying night and rain, mounted by an enigmatic rider. Imagined by Thomas Jolly and forged by Nantes-basedAtelier Blam, this futuristic steed, 1.80 meters high and weighing almost a ton, captivated the world, perfectly embodying the chivalric spirit of Olympism - resilience, peace, solidarity and unity. And now it's trotting proudly into the heart of Paris, ready to blow our minds!
ZEUS' ability to cut through the waves of the Seine required a feat of engineering: an underwater trimaran designed by MMProcess in Quiberon. 14 meters long and weighing 2.5 tons, this invisible vessel, made from recycled carbon, enabled ZEUS to sail 6 km like a modern-day ghost horse. Thanks to this alliance of technology and creativity, each of his strides was a tribute to French audacity and innovation.
Free tickets for this unusual exhibition are available online from August 27, 2024 at 5pm on the Paris.fr website. So round up your friends and gallop on over to Hôtel de Ville to make sure you don't miss this unique chance to see ZEUS in the flesh ... or at least in metal!
And after the Hôtel de Ville, the journey continues for our proud courier! From October 2024, he'll take up residence at the Maison Sanofi in Paris (premium partner of the Paris 2024 Olympics), before trotting off to a museum, where he'll continue to fascinate young and old alike, eternal knight of French culture.
