Panda tells the story of an eponymous character, played by Julien Doré, an ex-cop who has become the laid-back owner of a straw hut in the Camargue. Living an idyllic existence far from technology and the hustle and bustle of the city, Panda and his 16-year-old teenager enjoy a haven of peace, adopting a lifestyle based on serenity and the avoidance of conflict. However, Panda's tranquility is disrupted when his past catches up with him, forcing him to return to duty in a very particular way: without violence, without weapons, and above all, not too early in the morning.
The series offers a striking contrast between Panda's tumultuous past as one of the finest police officers of his generation and his current life, where zenitude is the watchword. This radical change of direction and Panda's unconventional approach to the challenges that resurface from his past provide fertile ground for humor and funny situations.
Ophélia Kolb and Gustave Kervern complete the cast, each bringing their own unique touch to this comedy that explores themes of redemption, fatherhood and the quest for inner peace. The presence of charismatic musician and actor Julien Doré in the lead role promises a captivating, nuanced performance.
"Panda" should stand out for its picturesque setting in the Camargue, an area known for its rugged natural beauty, providing a visually impressive backdrop that contrasts with the comic twists and turns of the plot. The series is an invitation to follow the adventures of a man who, despite his efforts to escape his past, discovers that certain responsibilities cannot be ignored, all with a light touch and a good dose of humor.
Panda is scheduled to launch on Disney+ on March 13, 2024. This series, previously broadcast on TF1, promises laughter, relaxation and maybe even a few life lessons, all served up by a talented cast and a most original story.
