The latest episode of Le Meilleur Pâtissier, broadcast on M6 on November 8, was another intense evening. Inspired by the sweets of childhood, the candidates redoubled their creativity and talent to charm the jury. The central theme was a reinterpretation of the clafoutis, followed by a challenge to create a complex cartoon cake, and finally, a fun and technical challenge based on childlike concepts for their cakes.
The clafoutis challenge, directed by Cyril Lignac, featured Thibaut and his revisited clafoutis, which delighted the chef's taste buds. However, Emily, Julia and Hafidou fell short, with creations lacking the essence of clafoutis.
The second stage was the cartoon cake challenge. With no precise guide from Mercotte, the candidates ventured into a colorful and technically challenging pastry challenge. Julia came out on top, while Chantal and Hafidou finished bottom.
For the final round, the pastry chefs had to turn the children's overflowing imaginations into cakes. Creations such as a will-o'-the-wisp, a castle-fort cake, and even a mermaid with multicolored farts were on the menu. Fanny shone in this challenge, winning the heart of guest chef Christophe Michalak, as well as the blue apron.
Unfortunately for Hafidou, his adventure in Le Meilleur Pâtissier came to an end that evening. Despite his best efforts, his creations were not enough to convince the jury.
This episode also marked the end of the "Mercotte's Secret Kitchen" segment. David, previously eliminated, had one last chance to re-enter the competition. Faced with Christophe Renou's signature dessert, it was David who came out on top against Hafidou, ensuring his return for the rest of the competition.
