Escape game: our test of 2050, the global warming room at Le Triangle

What ecological disasters can we expect in 2050, and how can we solve the problem? ? This is the question being asked by Le Triangle, an escape game located in the 8th arrondissement, near the Madeleine, inviting the curious to explore, since October 1, 2022 in the revisit of one of its rooms, a Mayan temple in search of an energy that can save humanity... or destroy it and preserve the planet! We've tested it, and we'll tell you all about it!

When escape games encourage reflection on the consequences of global warming... The result is 2050, a new room at Le Triangle escape game, located in the 8th arrondissement, a stone's throw from Place de la Madeleine. The new room replaces the former Le Temple Maya room, which opened on October 1, 2022, and reuses the same settings, but reinvents the enigmas in their entirety, allowing those who have already done Le Temple Maya to come back and discover this new adventure.

The pitch for this adventure, in detail, is as follows:"In the year 2050, the environmental situation has reached a critical level. Natural disasters, famine, the destruction of biodiversity and geopolitical crises are becoming legion. In the year 2022, a group of scientists believed they had found a solution: a new, hitherto unknown form of clean energy. This energy would have the power to save the Earth, but in the wrong hands, it could become a weapon of unparalleled power. Their search led them to an ancient temple... However, a few weeks after their departure, they gave no sign of life. Today, the situation is far too critical. You absolutely must go and investigate this mysterious energy and bring it back if it really exists. We're counting on you.

A room we were able to test... And it's very different from the Mayan Temple you were able to test a few days before the first lockdown. In terms of decoration, the various rooms in this room have been reorganized and changed quite a bit from the previous version, to better suit the new story being told.

As far as the story is concerned, theecological approach is all the more alarming for its topicality. A room that uses this "pretext" and that of the riddles in this escape game to make us think about the consequences of global warming and what we can do - or not do - about it. Note that all the data provided, both in the introductory video and in the documents available in the escape game, are taken from the latest IPCC report, thus providing a real information base to raise players' awareness of the issue.

Otherwise, beyond the difficulty of some of the puzzles, for a room really designed for intermediate/expert levels, the immersion is absolutely incredible, with larger-than-life settings and a respect for scientific facts, making the whole thing more authentic. The room even has a few surprises in store in terms of puzzles, but we won't tell you more!

One last thing, though: don't worry about not finishing in time, as the room has no timer. Of course, we'll help you get out if you stay longer than an hour and a half, but if you finish in just over an hour, that's just as well, the idea being to let you finish the room with the aim of raising your awareness of environmental issues.

So set off on your adventure without fear, but perhaps after you've already completed several rooms, and ask yourself what you'd do, between saving humanity and saving the planet... ? Shall we book a session, folks?
