A familiar map, Pokémon roaming the streets and stores, humans and Pokémon living in harmony... That's the plan for this intriguing city, revealed in an unexpected trailer released this February 27, 2024, at Pokémon Presents.
Game Freak presents Pokémon Legends Z-A, an unreleased game due to land on Nintendo Switch in 2025. Discover the game's trailer.
" A new adventure is coming to Illumis, where an urban redevelopment plan has been implemented to make this city a place belonging as much to humans as to Pokémon. This adventure will be yours."
This short video reveals very little about the game... But the few clues shown are enough to pique our curiosity. We see a map ofIllumis, a city in the Kalos region first introduced in Pokémon X and Y (2013). The city is clearly inspired by Paris, in terms of its architecture, monuments and location on the games' map.
This new trailer takes us back to Illumis. Haussmann-style buildings, the Arc de Triomphe, a tower bearing a striking resemblance to the Iron Lady: there's no doubt we're in the Pokémanian equivalent of Paris.
And what about the rest of the game? Characters, game mechanics, objectives, storyline: we have no information on Pokémon Legends Z-A at the moment. It's likely, however, that this new opus will resemble Légendes Pokémon Arceus: a game that explores the history of a region, offering more depth to Pokémon folklore.
Game Freak and Nintendo are expected to reveal more information in the coming months. Are you ready for this new adventure?
