After La'eeb, the mascot for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, we're off toGermany for Euro 2024, with theAlbärt bear! European Internet users and schoolchildren voted for the mascot, with 32% of the votes cast! This is the first time that this animal, usually considered fierce, has represented a European competition. But here, the mascot is absolutely adorable and pays tribute to the German teddy bear, born at the beginning of the 20th century.
As for the official ball, equipment manufacturer Adidas, a long-standing partner of FIFA and the Euro since 1968, has come up with a design featuring black triangles and colorful shapes, intended to symbolize the movement and energy of the game. Its name is"Fussballliebe", which translates into French as"the love of soccer", a nice nod to all the players and fans who look forward to this competition. All the stadiums and names of the host cities are inscribed on it: Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
This ball is equipped with a new technology, the Connected Ball, which records all ball movements to help the VAR.
