While sports fans are focused on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games , which are set to take place this summer, we mustn't forget another renowned football-related competition - the Euro! This year, the 2024 edition will take place in Germany, and will see Europe's top men's national teams go head-to-head. Who will succeed Italy, defending champions in 2020? Les Bleus are the overwhelming favourites, following their incredible performance at the last World Cup.
The Euro 2024 qualifiers lasted from March 23 to November 21, 2023, and 23 teams finally qualified, including three as yet unknown, who will play off against each other. France, top of Group B, has secured its place and will attempt to reclaim the title it lost 24 years ago. In the last edition, following their World Cup victory, Les Bleus collapsed and failed to progress beyond the Round of 16.
For the final phase, the French find themselves in Group D, along with Austria, the Netherlands and an as yet unknown play-off team - Wales, Finland, Estonia or Poland. Nothing insurmountable for our in-form Bleus, who will be hoping to bring home another cup before the Olympic Games, which some of their players may also be taking part in...
