While many people follow the Super Bowl every year, or become familiar with American soccer through films and series on the subject, until now the French haven't had the opportunity to take an interest in the sport in their own country. At the beginning of June, the Paris Musketeers entered the European League of Football, and will play their home games at Stade Jean Bouin throughout the season. Created by 2 former French players who played in the United States, the team brings together the country's best tricolores and international players, to establish the sport in the country.
It's a way for French players to stay at home, without having to go abroad to enjoy their sport. 60 players of 4 nationalities make up the team, including American quarterback Zach Edwards, coached by Marc Mattioli. On June 3, 2023, in their first match, the Musketeers beat the Cologne Centurions 24-17. This Saturday, June 10 at 5pm, the Musketeers meet Stuttgart at Jean Bouin for their home opener!
With few European teams left on the continent, the team has just 12 games to prove itself, half of them at home. With tickets starting at just 21 euros, you'll be able to watch them play and take a closer look at this exciting sport on July 1, 16 and 23, August 26 and September 2, 2023, for their very first season! And, just like in the USA, the match will be accompanied by a real show, with initiations, concerts, games and DJ sets, making for quality sporting evenings!
