The charity PL4Y International cancels the event VertiGO, which is the first vertical race in France scheduled on September 24, 2020 at the Tour First at La Défense. This innovative project invites sport enthusiasts to climb the 48 floors of the highest tower in France, the Tour First, as fast as possible to reach the top, 755 feet high.
Moreover, even though the organization does not host the event in real life in 2020, it offers participants to take part in the #VertigoChallenge, its first connected sport challenge. The principle is simple: with your Vertigo team, run as many kilometers as possible for 19 days, from October 12 to October 30, 2020. Then, each kilometer is turned into a donation by the company for the PLAY International NGO.
But then, how does it work? Each participant creates one or several team(s) of 4 collaborators with their company. You then have to download the SquadEasy app, enter the code of the challenge provided by your company and select the pre-signed-up team. To win bonus points, answer customized quizzes giving magical "boosts" to your team and complete group challenged.
At the end of the challenge, the 3 company teams who ran the most kilometers win gifts from PLAY International or their partners. The company enlists in transform the number of kilometers ran by their teams into donations for PLAY International.
A few figures about the VertiGO race:
In 2011, the “Vertical World Circuit”, an international challenger gathering the highest towers worldwide is created. Today, there are numerous similar races united by the International Skyrunning Federation and organizing races regularly on the 5 continents. Among them, 8 have been selected to create the Vertical World Circuit.
This upcoming Thursday May 14 September 24, 2020, the Tour FIRST will host the 8th edition of this race expecting to collect as much as possible for the PLAY International NGO that’s entrusted with developing teaching programs thanks to sport in France (including Mayotte), Burundi, Kosovo, United Kingdom and India. PLAY International uses sport to face varied issues such as the equality between girls and boys, handicap, interethnic dialog, sexually transmitted diseases awareness and conservation of the environment.
Climbing the Tour FIRST is obviously an unparalleled sporting challenge in France, but it’s also the opportunity to take part in a wonderful show of solidarity.
Please note that the race is free of charge for individuals since their sole capacity to collect money for the PL4Y International charity, thanks to their entourages, allows them to take the start of the race.
