The famous NRJ Music Awards ceremony returned to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, the historic venue for the event since its inception. Presented by Nikos Aliagas, the NRJ Music Awards ceremony took place on Friday November 1, 2024.
Every year, the NRJ Music Awards bring together the biggest French and international stars for the only awards ceremony where the winners are chosen by the public. Over the years, the event has become one of the must-attend musical events of the year. It's also a chance to catch up with some of the year's greatest live artists. This year, American artist Billie Eilish and alternative rock band Linkin Park put on a show, albeit from a distance.
Present in Cannes, Santa really set the evening alight. Accompanied by a dozen dancers dressed as gladiators, she gave an outstanding performance of her song"Recommence-moi". Meanwhile, David Guetta got the audience up and dancing, accompanied by Emma and Masséo from Star Academy.
As for the winners, Vitaa took the prize for French-speaking female artist of the year, for the second year running! Slimane, who is currently the target of a sexual harassment complaint, walked away with the award for best male French-speaking artist of the year. Indochine also took to the stage to collect their prize for Best Francophone Group. American Benson Boone was named International Revelation of the Year. Pierre Garnier won the award for Francophone Revelation of the Year, as well as Francophone Song of the Year, with"Ceux qu'on était".
