Lunar or Chinese New Year is often the occasion to dive into another culture. This year, the Lunar New Year falls on Sunday January 22, 2023, and therefore, the Vienna-Paris Ensemble and the 13th arrondissement town hall will celebrate it early, with a free and original concert.
To celebrate 2023 and the Chinese New Year and year of the Water Rabbit, the Vienna-Paris Ensemble delivers a concert mixing traditional Chinese music and classic Eastern pieces hosted by philosopher Claude Imbert.
With musicians from the Vienna Paris ensemble, conducted by Haidong Ni: Alain Jehu, Sophie Liu, Kozue Kusunoki, Adrea Nikolić, Bhoiravi Achenbach (violin), Matca Novosel, Ivana Nikolić (oboe), David Blumberg (clarinet), Johannes Kubitschek (cello) and Bing Wu (Pipa and Guzheng – solo concert artist).
