Attention Rolling Stones fans! This Wednesday, December 20, 2023, France 4 is devoting a special evening to the British band led by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
On October 20, The Rolling Stones released"Hackney Diamonds", the band's first original opus since 2005 and the first record produced without drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021. Now, many French fans are hoping to see The Rolling Stones live in France again soon. In the meantime, France 4 is offering them a special evening this Wednesday, December 20, with the prime-time broadcast from 9.10pm of " Licked Live in NYC ", the famous concert given by the band on January 18, 2003 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Part of the"Licks Tour" and accompanying the release of the 2002 anniversary compilation"Forty Licks", this concert is an opportunity to discover some twenty live tracks remastered for the occasion and performed by the rock legends, including " Street Fighting Man ", " Angie ", " Start Me Up ", " Gimme Shelter " and " Brown Sugar ", not forgetting the legendary " Sympathy for the Devil" and " Honky Tonk Women " with Sheryl Crow.
To continue the evening in the company of the Stones, France 4 broadcasts " Totally Stripped ", a 1:31 documentary directed by Jim Gable, Christine Strand, David Mallet and Patrick Woodroffe, at around 11:30pm. It shows the Rolling Stones on stage and in the middle of recording their classics and a few covers in the studio in Tokyo in 1995 and then in Lisbon.
