Fin de partie, Samuel Beckett 's play interpreted by Jacques Osinski, returns to the Théâtre de l' Atelier for 30 exceptional performances. This contemporary interpretation features four actors in a play considered one of the major works of the theater of the absurd .
Fin de partie doesn't really have a story. It takes place in an undefined place after some kind of indeterminate catastrophe. There are four characters on stage: Hamm (Denis Lavant), ablind, paralyzed man; Clov (Frédéric Leidgens),Hamm's servant, who can't sit down; Nagg (Peter Bonke) and his wife Nell (Claudine Delvaux), Hamm's parents , who live in a garbage can.
The staging remains faithful to Samuel Beckett 's vision: long pauses, silence and repetition contribute to the absurdity of the situation and the heavy atmosphere. French director Jacques Osinski 's set is between light and darkness, with few elements on stage. It's a charmless place that comes to life as the play progresses and the actors interact.
Fin de partie runs at the Théâtre de l'Atelier from June 5 to July 14, 2024.
