A huge party has been planned in the entire city to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first Yves Saint Laurent show: an exhibition deployed in several museums, giving pride of place to the great fashion designer. From January 29 to September 18, 2022, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent takes us back to the designer’s archives.

His influences, his style, and his discoveries, his obsessions… Yves Saint Laurent, his work, his career scrutinized: the designer is given pride of place in six museums in Paris! to celebrate the 60th anniversary of his very first show, a huge exhibition runs in six art institutions in Paris. Each venue shows the relationships with the fashion designer. The musée Yves Saint Laurent comes up again with archives and pays tribute to the artist’s fashion house. A stroke of pen on paper, and the creative machine is on. The Musée Yves Saint Laurent lifts the veil on Yves Saint Laurent’s creative process and life of his fashion house. From sketches to studios, the exhibition enables to discover the creation of models and the life of the fashion house. “This is my home, it is a great joy to receive all the love that she has for me. I'm talking about the seamstresses, the heads of ateliers, the whole house is a house based on love”, the designer said.

From the designer to workers, haute-couture models were altered, thought over, redesigned until they became the outcome of exceptional team work.

From his very first shows, Yves Saint Laurent managed to influence French fashion. Always renewing himself, he spent his career playing with conventions, shapes, colors, to provide always surprising and innovative collections.

The “Yves Saint Laurent in Museums” exhibition is deployed in six major Paris museums, each one of them highlighting an aspect of the designer’s universe and character. Meet at the Centre Pompidou, the Musée national Picasso, the Museum of Modern Art, the Louvre and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum to discover the rest of the exhibition.
