When nature is transformed and used by man... Galerie Wallworks invites you to discover the latest exhibition by German artist Hendrik Czakainski, entitled Technosphere, from February 17 to April 22, 2023. But what is Technosphere? It's "the part of the environment manufactured or modified by man for use in human activities and human habitats". This includes industrialization, mining, pollution, deforestation, urban development, transportation, but also computer systems such as the Internet.
A technosphere that inspires the artist's three-dimensional works, "where order and chaos harmonize with rare skill". To describe his works, he evokes various senses, including smell, and in particular the smell of rain on asphalt, on the ground in the middle of a forest or on the roof of a building. Smells that change according to the surface, just like the colors used here on his creations.
A colorful work, then, blending urban environments and landscapes, composed of a "multitude of interlocking constructions", veritable imaginary architectural murals or relics of the future where "the human presence is represented by the lines and shapes of urban layouts as seen from the sky". And an artist who is interested in color, which is increasingly omnipresent in his work. A good reason to discover his work!
