If economics is too obscure a subject for you, the Cité de l'Économie is offering you the chance to see a little more clearly, thanks to a fun exhibition based on Asterix and Obelix! Uderzo and Goscinny's famous comic strip will be on display from October 21, 2023 to April 21, 2024 in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, providing a clearer understanding of the market economy and other concepts, with the help of wild boars, menhirs, fish that aren't fresh and sesterces!
In this fun-filled exhibition, we step into the village of the irreducible Gauls for a crash course in economics, from which we're sure to emerge much more at ease, thanks to the many examples used. Along the way, you'll follow iconic characters from the 40 albums in games, mazes, quizzes and other fun learning devices, for a complete immersion experience alongside Getafix, Julius Caesar and even Dogmatix. Younger visitors can follow the little dog on a treasure hunt that will lead them to the secret recipe for the magic potion, no less!
It's also a good opportunity to ask yourself about the monetary value of a menhir, as the 40th album in the series, L'Iris Blanc , prepares to invade Gaul and the Romans on October 26. The exhibition is particularly well-suited to children and teenagers, with a highly visual approach to a wide range of concepts. From one workshop to the next, they can dress up as Romans, slap them in the face in a video game, draw comic book characters - and learn all the while!
