UFO alert! From September 18 to October 26, 2023,XXL art will invade the Faubourg Saint-Honoré district of Paris, with artist Rero'sfree open-air exhibition. Four colossal works, representing resin busts, will take pride of place in emblematic locations in the district, outlining an artistic itinerary entitled"UPDATE".
"UPDATE" highlights the history and evolution of Faubourg Saint-Honoré. With this series of sculptures, conceived in 2012 with Stéphane Parrain and re-edited in monumental version for the occasion, Rero reinvents the urban landscape. These giant creations fuse neo-classical statuary aesthetics with the language of digital culture, represented in capital letters and crossed out with a line. This juxtaposition of two worlds reveals the contrasts and paradoxes of our modern era, while exploring the evolution of artistic techniques from the tangible to the intangible.
The exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect on our times, discover art from a new angle and explore the transformation of contemporary power from physical expression to the age of keywords, computer codes and algorithms.
From September 18, discover the 4 works at the intersection of rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and rue Royale, as well as in Place de l'Église Notre-Dame de l'Assomption (Place Maurice Barrès, with two works) and Place de la Madeleine. These are emblematic sites, since Antoine Coypel, the figure represented by the monumental bust, was the painter to Louis XIV and Louis XV, the two kings who founded the Madeleine / Concorde district, linked to this day by the Rue Royale.
Go on an open-air quest forcontemporary art , and discover these hybrid works, an aesthetic fusion of past and present!
